La ARMA Nostra Certification Reimbursement
Purpose
Established in 2009 by Nicholas J. De Laurentis—affectionately known as “The Godfather”—the La ARMA Nostra “family” is dedicated to advancing the information management profession and supporting those who work within it. Through collaboration, mentorship, and community engagement, the group seeks to strengthen the profession, foster leadership, and inspire the next generation of information management professionals.
The “family” established this award for individuals who are pursuing or have recently earned an information management–related certification, such as the CRM (Certified Records Manager) or IGP (Information Governance Professional) designation.
Eligibility
- Be an ARMA International Professional member at the time of application and award distribution;
- Confirm that your employer will not cover your cost; and
- Have not received an AIEF-funded award over $500 in the last 5 years.
Preference is given to applicants applying for their first professional certification. Those pursuing Institute of Certified Records Managers (ICRM) certifications (i.e. CRM, CRA) or the Information Governance Professional (IGP) certification are given preference over other certification programs.
Sponsors and Funding
Sponsored by La ARMA Nostra and the Institute of Certified Records Managers (ICRM). Funding is determined on an annual basis. AIEF reserves the right not to offer grants unless funding is available. AIEF encourages endowed scholarships supported by gifts from individuals and organizations. Potential donors are invited to contact us for more information.
Selection Committee
All applications submitted for AIEF scholarship or reimbursement programs are reviewed and evaluated by the AIEF Scholarship Committee. Each application is assessed based on its completeness and the quality of the required components. If, in the judgment of the committee, no applications in a given year meet the established standards of excellence, AIEF reserves the right not to grant any awards for that cycle.
Reimbursement Award
AIEF scholarship award amounts may vary based on demonstrated financial need and applicable exchange rate fluctuations. Each year, AIEF provides up to six reimbursement awards, with a maximum value of $500 each.
Payment
AIEF will make payment directly to the award recipient soon after all applicants have been notified of the committee’s decisions. All payments will be made in US dollars by e-check or wire transfer.
