La ARMA Nostra Certification Reimbursement Award – Begin Application

* The Foundation’s current focus is the field information management (IM) which we define as: including the responsibility for establishing and implementing policies, systems, and procedures to capture, create, access, distribute, use, store, secure, retrieve, and ensure disposition of an organization’s records and information assets. IM is an essential component for information governance, which holds organizations and individuals accountable for the proper handling of information assets. IM enables awareness to both business and technology changes enabling any organization to respond, with confidence, to changing needs.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:

The AIEF Scholarship Committee reviews an applicant’s eligibility related to the required application material as well as qualitative aspects of their application.

Past winners of the scholarship are not eligible to apply.

Preference will be given to applicants who are:

  • Applying for reimbursement for their first professional certification
  • Pursuing Institute of Certified Records Managers (ICRM) certifications (i.e. CRM, CRA), and then Information Governance Professional (IGP) certification over other certification programs.

APPLICATION MATERIAL:

At the time of your submission, include the following materials in the order indicated as a single PDF document (preferred) or individual files (see the Submission Details section for more information):

  1. Evidence of current membership in good standing of an information management related professional association (e.g., ARMA, AIIM, etc.).
  2. Evidence that you are employed as an information management professional (see the Foundation’s definition ofIM above) and have been for at least one year. Evidence of employment includes a letter, on official letterhead, from your supervisor acknowledging your position in the organization.
  3. Current resume or Curriculum Vitae (CV)Evidence of successful completion of part or all of the certification since January 1, 2019 must be presented. Please note: preference will be given to applicants who: (a) are applying for reimbursement for their first professional certification; (b) are pursuing Institute of Certified Records Managers (ICRM) certifications (i.e. CRM, CRA, etc.), and then Information Governance Professional (IGP) certification over other certification programs.
  4. A personal essay (two-pages maximum, double spaced, 12pt font) addressing what you have learned through, and how obtaining the information management-related certification will help you in your career.
  5. Evidence of expenses incurred in pursuit of the certification. Expenses include application/exam fees, study materials, preparation seminar fees, etc. (Usually done through copies of reciepts.)

APPLICATIONS ACCEPTED: July 15th – Aug 15th

SUBMISSION DETAILS:

All components of the application must be received by the deadline for the application to be considered by the evaluation committee. The application and accompanying materials must be in English. A single PDF with all application components is preferred.
