We are thrilled to announce a significant milestone in the ongoing collaboration between ARMA International and the ARMA International Education Foundation (AIEF). The Boards of both organizations have approved an agreement solidifying a more cohesive working relationship moving forward.
Over the past year, the ARMA International Board of Directors and the AIEF Board of Trustees have engaged in extensive discussions to identify how best to enhance their collaboration for the benefit of ARMA members and the industry at large. These conversations have led to a new integrated approach that supports the long-term strategic goals of both organizations while achieving operational efficiencies.
“This is a significant milestone in the partnership between ARMA International and AIEF,” states Kathleen Timothy, AIEF Trustee Chair. “The agreement will allow both organizations to better leverage their resources, knowledge, and expertise to advance the profession of records and information management.”
Nathan Hughes, CEO of ARMA International, states: “This strengthened collaboration will enable ARMA and AIEF to work more closely together on various key initiatives such as education, research, advocacy, and professional development, along with increased operational efficiencies between the organizations. The combined efforts will also amplify the impact of research and advocacy initiatives, further promoting the importance and advancement of the records and information management profession.”
“As we move forward, both ARMA International and AIEF are committed to maintaining open communication with members, stakeholders, and the wider records and information management community. We believe that this renewed partnership will foster innovation, drive excellence, and ultimately create a brighter future for all professionals in the field. Together, we are stronger, and we look forward to the exciting opportunities that lie ahead,” states James Merrifield, ARMA International Chair.
Key highlights of this new relationship include:
- Revised Bylaws: In June, the AIEF Board of Trustees voted on revised bylaws that extend term opportunities for Trustees and outline a new governance structure between the ARMA International Board of Directors and the AIEF Board of Trustees.
- Integrated Governance Structure: The ARMA International Board of Directors has accepted these changes, establishing a new and more integrated governance structure.
- Phased Transition Process: A 3-year phased transition process for currently serving Trustees and Officer positions has been approved. This ensures a smooth transition utilizing current members, continuation of the Chair position transition, and implementation of the new governance structure in a phased approach.
