Thomas Hesse

The Tidewater Chapter of ARMA International wishes to remember Colonel Thomas Michael Hesse, United States Army, Retired, a vital member of the Records Management Community in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia..

In the military Mr. Hesse served as an airborne ranger and artilleryman at posts throughout the United States and overseas. Assignments included tours in Korea, Vietnam, Ansbach, Germany and later, West Berlin, Germany. In 1976, he attended Syracuse University and obtained a Masters in Business Administration as a part of the Army’s Comptrollership Program. The highlight of his service was West Berlin where he served as Comptroller for all U.S. Forces.

After retiring from 24 years of service to his country, Tom successfully started and operated two businesses in the Tidewater, VA area. One of those, Lion Heart Records Management Services, Inc., which he operated for ten years, brought him into the business of Records Management.
Mr. Hesse was a member of the Tidewater Chapter of ARMA from 1994 – 2006, when he retired from his business. Mr. Hesse served two terms as Treasurer of the Chapter and held the distinction of being a “Chapter Member of the Year”. Mr. Hesse was also very active on the Chapter’s Seminar and Audit Committees and served as the Chapter Librarian for many years. “It is important to note that Mr. Hesse was a great asset to the chapter and served as a mentor and friend to many chapter members. As a retired former member he has been and will continue to be missed by our many chapter members.”
